    Chameleon EP coming very soon . . .

    Hey there !  We've been pretty quiet on here since the heights of the MSN Live Sessions final but behind the scenes we've been gigging away and we're now about to go back into the studio to finish work on our 6 track EP.
    Chameleon EP should be finished by early June ready for release in July.
    Watch this space as there's sure to be a launch party a-coming !!!

    We made the short list and got down to the last three, chosen by a panel of industry judges.

    Although we didn't walk off with £10,000 in our back pocket, we had a great time, got some great reviews and the promotional video of the final is now being shown on msn video until the end of January 2007. Check it out here

    Native State play Radio One Open Mic slot at BreakInTheCity

    Ruth from Native State played the Radio One Open Mic slot and went down a storm at the BreakInTheCty event on Saturday 28 October at The Bridgewater Hall.

    Open Mic was hosted by Radio One's Huw Stevens.

    It was filmed by Channel 4 for their S4C Music Show 'Bandit' and will be broadcast on Thursday 9 November at 9.30pm. S4C is on Sky channel 135

    Native State also had a demo reviewed by an expert panel of A&R, producers & media. The demo was very well received by both panel and audience, gaining spontaneous applause.

    Native State win through to the MSN Live Sessions final !!!

    Native State play in the final of the MSN Live Sessions competition 2 Nov 2006 at The Barfly, Camden, London!!!
    We made the short list and now we're down to the last three, chosen by a panel of industry judges.
    The judges will pick the best artist in live performance from each genre. The winning artist in each genre wins a £10,000 prize and a day with artist management to advise them how to spend this.
    From the three winning artists, a winner will be chosen based on number of downloads and the quality of their live performance on the day, they will receive a £300k MSN advertising campaign and recording time! Bring it on !!!!!

    Native State make the Windows Live Sessions shortlists

    Good news about the MSN Live Sessions competiion we're in.
    We made it to the shortlist stage and could be making it to the final !!

    What's more the judging panel of 5 music industry guys are checking out our stuff this week !!
    Here's the list of judges:

    Eddie Clarke (former Motorhead guitarist)
    Gary McLarnan (Manager of Mr Skruff)
    Paul Craig (Managing Director of Supervision Management)
    Charlie Kirby-Welsh (Label Manager Kartel Records - Son of Dave & Fat Freddy's Drop)
    John Kennedy (XFM DJ)
    Paul Kinder (Head of Publishing, Europe - Chrysalis Music)

     There are three genre categories,
    1.Rock/Metal
    2.Alternative/Indie including acoustic, and
    3.Pop/Urban including dance, R'n'B and Hiphop

    We are in the shortlist for Alternative/Indie including acoustic. A panel of industry judges pick the best three finalists in each genre. Then in a live performance the judges pick the best artist from each genre. The winning artist in each genre wins a £10,000 prize and a day with artist management to advise them how to spend this. From the three winning artists, a winner will be chosen based on number of downloads and the quality of their live performance on the day, they will receive a £300k MSN advertising campaign and recording time!

    Native State win Real Fresh TVs Bandstand competition

    Thanks to everyone who voted for us in the Real Fresh TV Bandstand competition.

    We are one of the four winning bands who will be performing at the Real Fresh TV November gig in Manchester.

    The concert will take place in the last week of November 2006 at a reputable live music venue in Manchester, UK. It will incorporate live interviews and will be filmed by a professional AV crew for broadcast on www.realfresh.tv.
